The NTIS team recently engaged with Bambusoideae Technology Sdn. Bhd. A spin-off company from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) with a solution in transforming agricultural waste such as pineapple waste, bamboo, and banana stems into high-value fibre and felt-based materials. These materials are further developed into premium downstream products including vegan leather and composite solutions.
Currently endorsed under Sandbox 2, Bambusoideae has successfully completed two key project milestones demonstrating strong technical progress in sustainable materials development.
Through this engagement, NTIS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the company’s journey in scaling circular economy solutions and advancing green, high-impact innovations for future commercialisation.
